Worlebury Golf Club was established by Henry Butt, a local philanthropist, with a group of like minded prominent businessmen. Though initially for their own enjoyment, they kindly donated their shares, making it into a Members Club in 1972. It is now one of a few Golf Clubs in the area that owns its own course and clubhouse. Worlebury celebrated its centenary in 2008. Located on Worlebury hill, it lies between the M5 junction 21 (2 miles away) and the seaside town of Weston super Mare. Its location affords stunning views overlooking the Severn Estuary, Wales and The Mendips.

Its location at the gateway to the Southwest affords stunning views overlooking the Severn Estuary and the South Wales coast to the north and The Mendip Hills to the south. We are a private members club with an active membership and a very friendly, welcoming clubhouse where you can enjoy great hospitality. The clubhouse also provides an excellent venue for a range of social functions ranging from birthday and wedding parties to luncheons and wakes.

read moreWorlebury Golf Club is not a long course by todays standards (5877yds). However, this belies its strengths. Golfers need to think tactically and to drive the ball straight to some very tight holes with out-of-bounds featuring heavily. Get on the wrong side of the Green for your approach shot and you will be faced with some daunting challenges. Especially if the Greenkeeper has placed the holes in the Club Championship locations because he has had a bad day!

On the northerly side, the course provides stunning vieews over the Bristol Channel, towards Cardiff and the Millenium Stadium, Newport and the South Wales coast. On a clear day the Severn Crossing can be seen beyond Portishead. The well manicured 5877 yard par 70 parkland course is one of the courses designed by the legendary six times Open Champion, Harry Vardon, an all time 'golfing great'. It flows through several, slightly undulating, stone walled and tree lined fields offering fantastic panoramas of the surrounding countryside.
