Woodstock Day Nursery
read moreMy little boy loved it, had a few issues with communication which they spotted and got us help with and now he's at 'big school' thriving! I have a happy confident son and they have a big role in that. They have an amazing garden and lovely team. One thing that stood out when we did our first visit is how children would play alongside each other or by themselves but no one looked lonely or left out. Social interaction is super important and that is definitely a big focus here. They encourage kids to be their own little personality which we love.
Regular Activities
read moreOur children have great fun dancing with Kerry from Wannado when she comes to teach them Streetdance. The building resounds with music and laughter as they learn how to follow instructions whilst enjoying boogieing to exciting music! Our popular confidence building workshops are fun, build positivity and self esteem. Each confidence workshops are designed to be individually tailored to your group and ultimately build happier, healthier children.
A Day in the Life
read moreThe doors open to our first children at 7.30am, who come into the Daisy room for breakfast - cereals, toast, with pancakes or croissants, ham, cheese, fruits and yoghurt with milk or water to drink - as the children finish they go off to one of the playrooms with our practitioners whilst other children take their place at the breakfast tables. We stop serving breakfast at 8am. By 9am the majority of our children have arrived and the first group/s will go into our garden, where the practitioners will open up the sand pit, get bikes out of the shed and set up activities chosen by the children.
Parent Partnership
read moreWe firmly believe that the parent's are the child's most important educator. Parents know their children far better than anyone else and therefore it is only through a strong partnership with them, that we, the nursery, can fully meet your child's needs. From the very first visit we will ask you about your child and his/her likes and dislikes. We will ask about their favourite foods, any foods they do not like (or are unable to eat), sleep patterns, early words and any childhood illnesses. The more we can know and understand your child before the first nursery day, the easier the settling in period will be for us all.
Special Activities
read moreIn Spring the nursery becomes a 'Child Free Zone' for an evening. This is a Parents' Evening with a difference and gives you the opportunity to sit down with your child's Key Worker and discuss their development and achievements in detail. Parents can also sample some nursery activities and it's a great Opportunity to meet the parents of your child's particular friends. All of our children are taken on short outings during the nursery day - walks in the buggies for the babies, walks to the beach for the older children and occasional trips out in the mini bus - to help them develop their understanding of the world about them.
Eating & Drinking
read moreLittle boys and little girls are made of water, proteins, fats, minerals and small stores of carbohydrates and vitamins - the quantities in that order. Little boys and little girls are actually the wonderfully complex soup of chemical reactions that Mother Nature has been able to dream up, with that extra-special something that makes them the unique individuals you love so much. Woodstock has a well equipped kitchen and two part time Cooks, Laura and Lorraine, who prepare all our lunches and teas.
Buttercup Room
read moreSituated on the first floor, Buttercup is the base room for our 'Cats', the two-year-olds to start their day at nursery. There's plenty of stimulus for physical activities and role play, with construction toys, train sets, a large dolls house and garage, puzzles, books, dressing up clothes and a large cosy area where the children can chat with friends or have a quiet time. After lunch, Buttercup becomes our sleep room for after-lunch naps. All our toddlers, most of our 2 year olds and some of the 3 year olds need a rest/sleep during the day.
Bluebell Room
read moreOn the first floor, Bluebell is the base room for our 'Tigers', the 3 and 4 year olds. It has the look of an Early Years classroom, with a large creative area, a literacy area, a maths area and a book corner. There are construction toys, magnets, puzzles, table top games and pegs to encourage the fine motor skills required to prepare children for writing, whilst encouraging their imagination and creative skills. In this room, the children are encouraged to serve themselves at snack times, helping to cut their fruit and spread their bread or crackers.
