read moreThere are several community health services based at Weeping Cross Health Centre and these are provided by the Community Health Team. The team work closely with your General Practice Team. Many of the services are by Doctors referral only. However you can access District Nurses, Social Workers (on Monday Mornings only), School Nurses and the Health Visitor by referring to the telephone numbers on our Useful Contacts Page. The Emotional Well being Service in Stafford provides counselling and a range of other services to treat mental health problems.

read moreIt is helpful to know if you have a Carer (someone who takes on an unpaid caring role) or if you are a Carer for someone else. We have a page dedicated to Carers where you can also register with us as a carer so we can provide you with additional support. If you think you are pregnant see your Doctor as soon as possible. Your Doctor will then arrange for your further antenatal care. Clinics are held by appointment and in conjunction with the community midwife on Thursday mornings. Information on who will be looking after you when you are pregnant and additional advice can be found in our Pregnancy Advice section.

This does not necessarily mean that there is a problem but simply that the Doctor needs to see you or talk to you to explain the whole situation. Results can be given to someone other than the patient if previously arranged with Doctor. The results of tests carried out during hospital visits are not normally sent to the practice.

read moreOur doctors work in a partnership and as a group. Although you are registered with a named doctor, you may see any of the doctors in the partnership. Advanced Nurse Practitioners are medical professionals who have undertaken considerable training and act as the triage service for the GPs. They are able to prescribe medications, diagnose, treat and refer. Please note they are not able to issue sickness certificates. They work across all three of our sites on various days and times. read moreHome visits are available for patients who are housebound or terminally ill and cannot come to the surgery. All requests for home visits will be assessed by a Doctor. Where possible please telephone between the hours of 8am to 10am so that the doctors have time to plan their list of home visits. When you request a visit, the receptionist will ask for details. This information enables the doctors to plan their calls and allows urgent visits to be dealt with promptly. If the patient has a rash or temperature it will do them no harm to come to the surgery and will not endanger others, please inform the receptionist on arrival.
