Similar to the ninth green a shot played over the back of the green will leave a tricky chip shot up a steep slope onto a green that slopes away from you. Deep greenside bunkers both sides make par a respectable score at this deceptively difficult hole. The Club has hosted Open Championship Qualifying, England Golf and Staffordshire County events for both men and ladies.
Juniors
read moreBetween us we will organise your matches and the calendar of events for the rest of the year. Ashley Salt and Dan Hewitt, the Club Professionals, run many sessions from the younger Juniors on a Tuesday at 4pm and for the older Juniors, on Saturdays. The Junior charter must stay in your golf bag for health and safety reasons. Ask Mandy for details. For all of you who have not handed your code of conduct form into the main office, please do so. Child welfare officer, Richard Jones is your contact if you have any concerns as a junior member of the golf club.
Squash
read moreBuilt in 1938, our two squash courts are said to be the first constructed outside of London. They are fantastic courts with skylights providing excellent light, and sprung wooden floors giving good feel and grip. They have solid walls on all sides, with good viewing galleries to the back walls. Completely renovated in 2009, these courts continue to provide an extra facility to members wishing to use them, and we have a good group of all abilities using them on a regular basis. Currently, the squash league has 6 divisions (mixed) with over 40 players enjoying the facility.
