Trendy Treads (Uk) Ltd is an independent childrens shoe shop based in Inverurie Aberdeenshire. Founded in 2005 by sisters Karen Wood and Jill Macdonald Trendy Treads has flourished in what has been for many retailers a difficult period. From the outset it was paramount to both Karen and Jill that what they were creating had to be focused on the entire customer experience for it to succeed. Our business approach has always been to not only meet, but exceed expectations and to develop and sustain a growing customer base by listening to our customers needs, delivering a quality service, believing in our product, investing in our staff and monitoring our performance.

I was guided well how to measure the size of her feet and the shoes were delivered quickly. Karen followed up on our order and we decided to exchange the shoes for a smaller size as they original ones were a little big. read moreAll the staff at Trendy Treads have undergone initial shoe fitting training which carries on throughout their employment. Additional courses have been provided by Start-rite and Hush Puppies for key members of staff. It is vitally important to us that our staff can communicate with and answer all customer concerns relating to the importance of fitted shoes for their children. We have information on hand in terms of leaflets to take away or approved websites to visit which ensures clear and concise information is available.
We are extremely lucky to have a relatively high staff retention score, we invest a huge amount of time in training and development and therefore want to ensure we retain and reward our girls accordingly. We do not set sales targets for our staff, the time spent with each customer can vary so much depending on fit or whether the child is fitted with orthotics, or whether the child is special needs etc... we therefore take all these things into account and incentivise with a monthly bonus to the member of staff scoring highest in all aspects of customer care and service.
