About Us
read moreThe Veterinary Centre is an independent, small animal practice with its main surgery in Henley and a branch surgery in Twyford. Since 1995, when Fiona took over the practice and we became The Veterinary Centre we have grown from two vets and four support staff to 15 vets and more than 40 support staff. The Henley and Twyford premises have had to grow to accommodate this expansion. We maintain our friendly, personal and non-corporate ethos despite our success!
Vaccinations
read moreThe development of effective vaccines to protect animals against serious (often fatal) diseases, has played a huge part in the improvement in health and longevity of our beloved pets over the last half century. Some of these diseases are now seen so rarely that many people have forgotten how dreadful they are. We cannot afford to become complacent. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be practising veterinary medicine in an era when watching a young puppy die of distemper, or a kitten succumb to feline enteritis, is such a rarity that some of our younger colleagues have never seen it.
Neutering
read moreAs a general rule we are in favour of neutering dogs, cats and rabbits who are not going to be bred from, but we like to discuss the pros and cons of this decision with every pet owner before booking an animal in for surgery. This discussion may happen at the time of initial vaccination of a new pet or at an adolescent clinic with one of our veterinary nurses or you may choose to book an appointment with a vet, specifically to discuss this issue. Having made the decision to have an animal neutered we can book the procedure for you.
