The Tern Veterinary Group
read moreDue to the second lockdown we are locking the doors again, to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. However we are still open and offering appointments as normal for the foreseeable future. From the onset Tern Vets have sought to provide the best care for both our large and small animal clients alike in Market Drayton and Newport. To achieve this, we are constantly updating our facilities and equipment to ensure that the level of care provided is of the highest standard of care. Our ethos is that we are here to help at any time you have a concern about your pet, however trivial it may seem.

read moreOur veterinary practice is staffed and run by people who specialise in pets, horses and farm animals. We are an RCVS accredited nurse training practice so you can be satisfied that we work to the highest standards at all times.
Services Archive
read moreOur Vets are available by appointment to diagnose and treat illness as well as carry out a variety of health care procedures. Appointments can be made by telephone or at our reception desk and priority is given to urgent cases. Our team of experienced vets and nurses perform a variety of operations on a daily basis at our Market Drayton and Newport surgeries. We use state of the art equipment in modern theatres with pets monitored by nurses continuously using digital recording equipment. We will endeavour to meet any request for a home visit to examine an animal, especially when travel may cause undue distress if the animal is already unwell.
Neutering
read moreA spay is an ovariohysterectomy (removing both the ovaries and the uterus) and a castration is removing the testicles. Neutering is performed under a general anaestethic. This means that they are unconscious and cannot feel any pain. Drugs are used to induce anaesthesia and provide pain relief. Very rarely an individual can react in an abnormal way to a medication given. To reduce this risk we offer a pre-anaesthetic blood test to check your pet's health and we provide a fluid drip to help your pet cope with the anaesthetic.
