The Edinburgh Psychology Centre
read moreFollowing the Scottish lockdown announced on 4 January 2021, we are asking all clients who are able to work online to do so for the present time. We have an online portal where we are able to provide a full range of counselling, CBT, and therapy services to individuals, couples and young people. However our centres remain open and we continue to offer a limited number of in-person appointments for clients who prefer to attend in this way. We also continue to provide our counselling, CBT and therapy services online and by telephone via our online portal.
Anxiety
read moreAnxiety results from the body's natural reaction to dangerous, threatening and stressful situations. The body prepares itself to fight or run away, known as the 'fight or flight' response. It may be that your body is responding to physical harm such as an approaching car, or something stressful such as exams, a job interview or meeting new people. While these responses are absolutely normal in the short term to protect you from harm, feelings of anxiety can sometimes go on for a long time - long after the harm has gone away.
