I also grabbed some pigs in blankets, as always, so tasty. Their meat is locally sourced and all farm reared and you can tell the difference from your supermarkets, I actually cook chicken from this place and I'm sure it grows and not srinks. And not to forget the staff are amazing, so knowledgeable about what they are selling you can ask them cooking times, best way to cook and even some recipes. This was all washed down with a bottle of red, again recommended by the staff here. I cannot praise the staff here enough. Customer service is second to none. So nice to have people genuinely interested in you and making sure you get the best out of your purchases. Have been a regular since and will continue to be.

Went in on Saturday and picked up a leg of lamb. The guy’s who served me was really helpful and the lamb was delicious! Will definitely popping back in to try the sausages!

Genius
A true Gem. More an experience than a Butchers. More a treat than it is shopping. Apart for a huge array of incredible meat in the Butcher' s counter, there are interesting cheeses, brilliant charcuterie (p.s. Wild boar prosciutto is to die for), natural wines and other top notch bits like unusual pasta, fresh bread and condiments. There is even a chance to sample a glass of wine , nibble on some food in the shop while waiting or lingering over the library of gastronomic books. . All topped off with fantastic staff (Graeme, Liam and Will) , who couldn't be more friendly or knowledgeable. This is absolutely what an independent, passionate business should be. So lucky to have it nearby.

A great big shout out for the lovely guys at The Butcher's Quarter who went out of their way home on Saturday evening to retrieve my cheese which hadn't been placed in my bag in the shop. Thanks a million. Also the lamb I bought was delicious. Outstanding service and good quality items. I will be back.

read moreMany of our suppliers are 'one man/women bands' or family businesses that have been doing their craft for many years. We choose our own produce in many cases - but equally rely on fantastic partners that share our ethos of artisan quality. Our meat comes from 2 farms in Cheshire - only 20-30 miles from the shop. The cattle are all free-range, grass fed in the growing season and grown to the highest levels of husbandry available. Our prime cuts are 28-38 days dry aged on average. That is the promise from our main suppliers at Packington and is so important to us.
