read moreThis project will help address the lack of work experience opportunities available for young people between 19-25 years who are disadvantaged by disability, special needs and ill health, who have finished education or is studying part time and would like to work one day per week in horticulture or woodcraft. We plan to build the skills, self-confidence and esteem of young disadvantaged by disability, special needs and ill health by providing worthwhile and meaningful work experience. Use a mix of practical and personal skills work experience to build self-confidence and esteem of young people.

read moreWe hold weekly woodcraft sessions and you can join these sessions at any time throughout the year. If you would like the wood-crafting team to work with your group to develop their interest and skills in woodworking, we would be happy to discuss your requirements with you. The woodcraft project is managed by a small beneficiary lead project team who have developed a small social enterprise by using recycled materials to produce interesting items such as trugs, planters, wine crates, and seasonal gifts.

Through participation and observation visitors can learn how to protect and appreciate nature and its precious inhabitants. Our gardens are home to adorable plants and other living creatures including bugs, small mammals, birds, reptiles, bees, butterflies and other wildlife species and are therefore very much in harmony with nature. The bugs, frogs, hedgehogs, bats and other visitors are attracted to the gardens in search of sustenance making the garden feel alive and full of activity whilst also helping to keep it beautiful.

Creative crafts give participants the opportunity to express themselves by doing something that is absorbing and enjoyable, whilst developing problem-solving skills, which can be used outside the course.
