And, a local area network - a potentially wireless one - will be necessary if there are multiple users in a single office location.

In a smaller organisation, these people would report to a director/owner of the company, whereas further up the scale there might be several tiers of regional, national, or even matrix management. In the context of TEn, this function is entirely within the scope of the Member Brokers.

For reasons of confidentiality and, as this is a public place after all, we cannot easily go into much more detail than that. You may be interested to know, that we also have a formula that incorporates a host of subtle variations, that take into account AR differences, one from another. This calculation looks at size, workload and work transfer, efficiency, proficiency and several other factors. It would be completely wrong, however, for anybody to assume that the financial result of joining TEn would be like dealing through a Wholesale Broker for everything.

Using the words Practice or Practitioner does not suggest that the term 'broker' is no longer appropriate in our model. It is simply that 'broker' can be ambiguous as between the person and the Practice, or Firm, or Company. Our real dilemma is that we don't much care for the term Appointed Representative (or AR), as this tends to conjure an image of driving around the countryside with a car boot full of sampled hair-care or deodorising products.
