We are a small, family run business opened in December 2004, owned and run by Tammy, kim and Emmeliegha. We provide childcare for children aged from 3 months to 5 years.

read moreMy name is Tammy I have Foundation degree in early years, I have worked in several nurseries and schools in Derby. The staff will insure high standards of care and education. Your child will have a key worker to support your childs development and act as a main point of contact for their parents/carer. We care for children with additional needs and have experience of working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and communication difficulties. I have attended several training courses including Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Disability awareness with Umbrella.

read moreTammy has been a childminder to the two of my children, both of which have allergies. Tammy has an excellent knowledge in how to deal with this, and takes a contentious approach to making sure my boys are still involved with all activities and play in a safe environment. Tammy provides excellent facilities for all the children regardless of age, and is constantly busy with activities ranging from cooking, gardening, reading, water play or trips out. In the time that my eldest son spent with Tammy he grew in confidence, and his development excelled.

read moreWe are registered to received the Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) which is available to all children over the age of 3 and eligiable 2 year olds and covers the cost of 15 hours of pre school education per week during term time - we will be happy to provide more information on this funding when you visit us. We also accept childcare vouchers as forms of payment. We only pick up from Alvaston school.

read moreThese times are a general outline of a typical day, and our flexible approach means that things may be moved around to suit the children and their individual needs. We also visit our local library, Alvaston park to feed the ducks, Elvaston castle and our toddler toddler group on a Thursday morning. Each child under the age of 5 will also have a Learning Journey in which we keep track of their learning, care and development, relating it to the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).

read moreMy name is Bruno I am a Travelling Ted, my role in Tammys-Tots is to accompany children on outings and to record our adventures in a daily diary, this will include pictures of our adventures. This is kept in my backpack and is available for everybody to read. Any child wishing to take me with them on family outings is welcome to do so, you just need to ask Tammy to get me ready for another adventure.
