Stuart's Table At The Farmers Arms
Restaurant in Chester, Cheshire
The Farmer's Arms has a varied and interesting past, including legend that it was once used as a hospital during the civil war. The earliest known owner in 1802, was John Williams of Huxley, when the pub was still decribed as a dwelling house and known by the name of Ring of Bells. Probably up to this time it brewed its own beer but it was bought in 1842 by a brewer from Chester, Robert Turner. The pub changed hands several times usually being bought by brewers and malsters from Chester.
