Stand Comedy Club

Set up in 1995, the club runs two purpose built venues in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Both are open seven nights a week with a varied programme of contemporary comedy featuring the finest Scottish and international comedians. Began by a bunch of enthusiasts as a hobby, The Stand has now become a successful commercial firm, but one that is true to its roots of developing new comedy in Scotland and giving audiences variety and value. The programme includes the Red Raw beginners nights, improvised comedy, sketch shows, the all female Wicked Wenches, plus Irish and Scottish showcases. Together with solo shows from better known performers and prime stand-up every weekend, there's always something going on. Many performers and critics regard the clubs as among the finest comedy venues in the world. Just over 100 thousand people came last year. Perhaps it's time to come and see for yourself.
