read moreNot to spoil too many Nativities but just to say it is likely that the Magi visited Mary and Joseph and the child Jesus up to 2 years after Jesus was born. This is probably the reason why Herod commanded the killing of the infants up to 2 years of age Matthew 2. 13-18. Reading through these early passages in Matthew we cannot escape the fact the revelation of Jesus is in the context of a journey. A journey of trusting God. Mary and Joseph trusting God and one another. Trusting enough to journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
