St Sebastian Community Centre
Community Center in Salford, Greater Manchester
St Sebastian's Community Centre is a community resource run by a tiny group of volunteers, which supplies a array of opportunities and resources for local people. Opened in 1981 as a Day Care Centre for older people, run by Salford Social Services Department, this service was withdrawn in March 2000. While retaining subsidised lunches and other services, the new management set out to extend its solutions to all ages and establish an attractive modern facility which could readily reply to changing local need and become a real 'centre' for the community.
