St Aloysius RC Church
Churches in Glasgow, Scotland
St Aloysius' Church was founded in 1910 to a late Renaissance design by the Belgian architect Charles Menart, who designed a number of other churches in Scotland at about the same time. The marble cladding and interior decoration was not carried out until 1927. Ernest Schaufelburg, an Austrian, was the architect for the work which made St Aloysius one of the most finely decorated churches in the City of Glasgow. The church is open all day every day for private prayer, mass, confession / reconciliation and other religious services.
