read moreStanley Booker, SSAFA supporter and RAF Veteran, was honoured for his personal contribution to the Liberation of France. A young fan of the Air Force has recently published a book featuring his art work, with quotes and stories from pilots, in aid of SSAFA and other Armed Forces charities. Fleet Air Arm and Second World War veteran Brendan Marron has his 100th Birthday party organised by SSAFA's Glasgow Helping Heroes. The RAF Benevolent Fund has provided some incredible support for Forcesline and the SSAFA Norton House in the last few years.

read moreWe work collaboratively with other Gurkha specific organisations such as the Gurkha Welfare Trust, the Gurkha Brigade Association, the Army Welfare Service, Gurkha communities and others. Our Gurkha services are available to all serving and veteran members of the Brigade of Gurkhas, and their families. We provide local SSAFA volunteers with up to date information, awareness and translation services, to ensure the Gurkha community have the same support opportunities as any other member of the Armed Forces community.

However, there are some core qualities that we are looking for such as enthusiasm, having a positive attitude, being understanding and respectful. You will be part of a team that reaches out to the Armed Forces community, past and present, and their families. Your time and energy volunteering makes a big difference, and even if you are not directly connecting with our beneficiaries, your contribution will lead to better outcomes for those in need.
