Specsavers

Specsavers was established in 1984 by Doug and Mary Perkins, who began the business in their spare bedroom on a table-tennis table. The couple had moved to Guernsey after selling a tiny chain of West Country opticians. In the early 1980s the UK Government deregulated specialists, including opticians, allowing them to advertise their products and services for the 1st time.
