Founded on nineteenth March 1887 by the Franciscans Conventual (ofm conv. The Parish is located in the N W corner of North Somerset between the River Avon to the N and the Severn estuary to the W. Portishead is a rapidly growing town and forms the hub of the parish. The M5 divides the parish with Portishead and the villages of Weston in Gordano and Clapton in Gordano to the W and the tiny town of Pill, Easton in Gordano and Ham Green and the villages of Abbots Leigh, Failand and Portbury to the E.
