About Us
read moreThe Rowe Veterinary Group was founded in 1948 by Mr John Rowe. We now have four veterinary practices in the North Bristol area, with a 24-hour hospital in Bradley Stoke, branch surgeries in Yate and Thornbury, and a veterinary surgery and MRI facility based in Wotton-under-Edge. As well as providing a high quality first opinion practice for dogs, cats, small furries, birds and exotic animals, we are home to a referral service: Rowe Referrals. We are always there to take care of your pet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Pet Nutrition
read moreWe believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great! Explore the guide to pet nutrition to discover the truth behind current trending diets and what your pet really needs for a balanced diet, or contact us to book in for a nutrition consultation with a member of the team.
Rowe Referrals
read moreRowe Referrals is a second opinion service for our own Vets and Veterinary Surgeons from all over the South West to refer unusual and complex conditions to us for further diagnosis and treatment. Appointments are arranged through your own Veterinary Surgeon, who will arrange for your pet to be seen by an Advanced Practitioner at Rowe Referrals. Our Referral Veterinary Surgeons have gained a further qualification/competency by further study and/or practical experience. As a client of the Rowe Veterinary Group you will have access to some of the country's leading Veterinary Surgeons and diagnostic equipment to ensure your pet receives the best treatment available.
Vet Services in Bristol and Gloucestershire
read moreComputer Tomography (CT) Scanning is most commonly associated with human medicine but over the past few years, it has become increasingly common in the veterinary world. Taking detailed x-ray images of your pet, the procedure works in the same way as it does for humans - and offers the same benefits, if not more! To visualise your pet clearly - Our CT scanner allows us to look closely at your pet's organs, muscles, bones or other internal body parts in order to better identify the cause of potential problems - these may be fractured bones, tumours or many others.
Veterinary Nurse Clinics
read moreRabbits are becoming increasingly popular, with some living comfortably indoors. They have specific husbandry and nutritional requirements. We can give advice on accommodation, exercise, neutering, health care, vaccinations and how to be aware of Flystrike, a distressing disease which can be avoided with proper care and attention to your rabbit. As an increasing number of pets become overweight, we are seeing further health problems develop such as heart disease, arthritis and diabetes. These clinics provide the opportunity to develop a tailor-made weight-loss plan for your pet.
Animal Acupuncture
read moreAcupuncture has been used for many centuries and is the painless positioning of very fine needles to specific points of the body, with good effect. Most used for its pain-killing effect, with animals there can be no placebo effect. The needles act on the nerve impulses at the affected site. We regularly perform acupuncture to several small animal patients, who tolerate the acupuncture well. It is usually performed in a normal consultation appointment, by a qualified vet, who will place the needles in the animal and leave them in for 5-15 minutes.
