Richmond Medical Centre was established in 1985. In 1992 the practice moved to a new purpose built building. The Centre supplies a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment for patients and team. The practice has approximately 7000 patients predominantly from Manor, Intake, Woodthorpe and Richmond but we have patients in Frecheville, Stradbroke and Handsworth. There are four partners, and associate and a salaried GP who share a dedication to best quality and individual primary healthcare. We currently have special interests in coronary heart disease, rheumatology, womens health, dermatology, diabetes and asthma. As a training practice we work with GP registrars (qualified doctors training to be GP's) and take part in the teaching of medical students from Sheffield Medical School.

We have a well-established team of experienced GPs, nurses and administrative staff who help us achieve this. We offer a variety of methods for patients to access health care to suit differing needs. These include on-day appointments, routine appointments, telephone consultations on most days, home visits where necessary and online access to appointments. We have a strong ethos in promoting excellence. This is recognised by the Care Quality Commision who rate our services as Good and by the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery who recognise our skills and accredit us as a teaching practice.

We provide a high quality, cost effective NHS vasectomy service in a primary care setting. The vasectomy procedure is available to all patients not just those of Richmond Medical Centre. The vasectomy service is carried out by Dr Chris Maden who is a member of the British Association of No Scalpel Vasectomists (BANSV). If you are interested in having this vasectomy procedure please contact your GP to arrange a referral to the service.

You need to bring a form of identification proving your current address to your appointment along with your Questionnaire. Once registered with the practice you can make an appointment to see any of the doctors or nurses. You can express a preference to receive services from a particular doctor or nurse, although some have longer waiting times than others.

Dry powder inhalers have a much lower carbon footprint than metered dose inhalers, and if these are suitable for you, you could consider switching, as they are usually easier to use too.
