When Q-Mass began up its sub contract machining business early in 2006, it was clear that it had to be something different, in order to be successful. With its main focus on the quality of its work, Q-Mass (Quality Manufacturing and Supply Solutions) knew it had to able to provide consistently best quality, added value components in a commercially competitive environment. For this to happen, Q-Mass needed to employee people, machinery and business processes capable of setting and continually improving these high standards. Recruiting such a kind of person has required a patient and uncompromising approach, but has led to a staff of people with not only the right technical skills but a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. More than 3 years on, it is clear that this approach has been the right one and has ensured a culture of getting it right 1st time. Training & apprenticeships
read moreQ-Mass has a program of recruiting apprentices which has been very successful in bringing fresh talent into the company and into the industry. The first apprentice was taken on in 2007, and following further recruitment each year we now have several apprentices working at Q-Mass at different stages in their development.

Through input and feedback from machine operators, inspectors, customers, suppliers etc. its business processes and methods are continually being reviewed and improved. The philosophy that all quality problems are avoidable and that the same problem or error should never happen twice, means that improvements are incorporated into business processes at every opportunity. In order to establish the foundation for high Quality performance and continuous improvement it was necessary to develop a culture for getting it Right First Time and to create an environment where changes are encouraged and welcomed.
