Pukar Disability Resource Centre
Disability Services in Preston, Lancashire
Pukar Disability Resource Centre has been founded since April 1998 by the founder of the organisation Poppy Tanna, who was physically disabled herself, as she was wheelchair bound. Poppy used to work for Action for Blind and through that service she became aware of the need for a service for the BME disabled people and their families in the Preston area. That was the launch of her journey to establish a service that would be culturally sensitive towards the requirements of the ethnic minority, diverse communities in Preston.
