Golf Courses & Equipment in Preston, Lancashire It was on the nineteenth of November 1892 that James Rigby, the Medical Officer of Health and Nicholas Cockshutt, a local solicitor, consulted with George Lowe the professional of Lytham St Anne's about the construction of Preston Golf Course. A site was chosen on the eastern side of Preston adjacent to the Preston Pleasure Gardens in the district of Farringdon. Within a week 9 holes were laid out. The course extended over 43 acres and was approximately 2600 yards set in undulating meadows overlooking the River Ribble, complete with basic changing facilities.

Smart recognised golf apparel must be worn at all times, if you are in any doubt please ask in the Professional shop rather than risk the embarrassment of being told. After playing golf you may go into the clubhouse in your golf attire however please remove any caps.

Fulwood Old Hall was acquired as the clubhouse in 1903 and has been tastefully developed and extended over the years to its current standard. On the first floor there is a bar and lounge area overlooking the 1st tee and 18th green that leads out onto a terrace, perfect for those post match tales of what could have been. A wide range of beverages are available plus an extensive menu to suit all tastes.
