Located in the upper Swansea Valley overlooking Pontardawe, Pontardawe Golf Club offers an exceptional location for playing golf. At just over 6101 yards and par 70, the course supplies a nice challenge for all standards of golfers. The course is located on a mountain and is semi-parkland. The course has a few gentle inclines, but these are worthwhile as the golfer is treated to panoramic views. To the North, are the pretty Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain, to the South, the Swansea Valley, Mumbles Head and Swansea Bay. From the tee of the sixteenth, known locally as the pulpit, these magnificent views are captured.

Hole 1 Flyover
read moreAlthough not a long opening hole, can prove to be tricky. It is essential your tee shot is far enough back from the large tree in order to get over it on your second shot. Less is more on this hole so keep your driver in the bag!
Hole 4 Flyover
read moreWith a ditch running 50 yards in front of the green and trees very much coming into play accuracy is far more important than distance. Aim up the left and the ball feeds down the slope to give a short second shot. Again aim left as the ball feeds in from this side and the ball is always below your feet.
Hole 2 Flyover
read moreA picturesque, but deceiving hole. Be sure to work out which way the wind is blowing before you get to the tee, as you are sheltered by all the surrounding trees. A long green from front to back and club selection can vary greatly depending on pin position.
Hole 7 Flyover
read moreA short par 5 where you can look to maybe pick up a shot. The key to this hole is your second shot over the trees. Clear them and you're in good position, but be careful not to bite off more than you can chew!
Hole 3 Flyover
read moreAn extremely testing hole. Play is a lot longer than it's yardage on the card as its uphill all the way. Trees run all the way up both sides of the fairway so you have to be straight when playing this daunting tee shot. Often better to play 2 clubs more than what you think your second shot is, but beware, go long and you'll do well to stay on the green when chipping back on this quick sloping green.
Hole 6 Flyover
read moreA tight tee shot but important to get enough length as again it is uphill and all carry. The ditch running across the fairway will only come into play with a miss hit second shot. Again, take more club than usual when playing your approach shot.
