My primary subject is Physical Education, and I am keen to instil the values of teamwork, honesty and effort developed through sport into the house ethos. Nailsea is a supportive and caring school that it is great to be part of, students and teachers here set high expectations of ourselves and each other and we work hard and encourage each other to achieve our goals. read moreWe hold an Open Evening annually, it's a great opportunity to see the school and meet the team, pupils and staff are on hand to talk about life at Nailsea School. Many students in our partner Primary Schools will already have visited Nailsea School to take part in various activities. An Induction Day is held in the summer term (usually Term 6), during which students in Year 6 opting to come to Nailsea School in September meet their Tutors and Heads of House, and are given a tour of the school. They also take part in a series of 'taster' lessons for the day and have lunch at the school.

Having taught at Golden Valley Primary School for the last 14 years, I wanted to continue to be involved in the local community and am delighted to now be a governor at Nailsea School. I am passionate about all aspects of education but especially how all young people can be best supported to achieve their fullest potential. I am the link governor for SEND and will be meeting regularly with the SENCo to monitor the school's performance and provide support in this area.
