Murrayfield Golf Club's creation in 1896 was part of the late 19th century explosion of interest in golf in Edinburgh which saw many private clubs created. The Murrayfield area was not as heavily populated as it is today and the bulk of the early membership came from the Haymarket district, the New Town and Western suburbs. Many of the founder members of the Club were already heavily involved in golf in East Lothian. No doubt they helped to build a course conveniently located near their homes and businesses so that their love of this increasingly popular game could be pursued more easily.

How to Join
read morePlease contact the office who will be delighted to arrange to show you round the clubhouse facilities and for you to have a round of golf. They will also be able to assist with any queries you may have and provide you with a full New Member Information Pack. Although we usually require support from 2 existing members on the form, if you are new to the area and do not know anyone please contact the Office for further information. Telephone:0131 337 3478 option 1. You can participate in our many social events, or just relax in our Bars on the first floor and enjoy the fantastic view over our golf course.
Clubhouse
read moreThe atmospheric clubhouse overlooks the 1st tee and 18th green with great views of players starting and finishing their rounds. It was opened in 1912 but has recently been refurbished. There are excellent facilities for members and visitors alike. The proshop allows visitors and members direct access to the clubhouse and has a back office where our head pro is often to be found. Downstairs there are men's and ladies' locker rooms with lockers available for visitors. The office houses our administrative staff and is where you will find Laura and her team who are very happy to answer any queries you may have.

read moreMurrayfield Golf Club is only 1.5 miles from the very centre of Edinburgh, one of Scotland's most famous golfing destinations and one of the world's top tourist attractions. It will take you 10 minutes by taxi from Edinburgh Castle to Murrayfield Golf club or 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport. The views towards Edinburgh Castle from several of the holes at Murrayfield, are simply sublime and not matched anywhere else in the city. The course is next to the world famous Murrayfield Stadium and beside Edinburgh Zoo.

Our chefs have a menu offering locally sourced, freshly prepared meals varying from light snacks to main meals.
