Based at Caldecotte Lake on the S side of the town, Milton Keynes Rowing Club (MKRC) shares its access and clubhouse with the Milton Keynes Sailing Club and Canoe Club. We currently have an active Summer and Winter Programme of races, events and training schedules, weekends and mid-week, as well as social functions. This covers both water training (both rowing and sculling) and land based training (circuits and rowing machines) Membership is varied and we encourage all stages of rowing ability, from experienced rowers to complete newcomers to the sport.

read moreWe must be mad! That's what a few of our friends said to us when Yvonne and I decided that we should start a rowing club in Milton Keynes. Looking back, maybe we were but it seemed like a good idea at the time and with hindsight we are glad that we did it. So how did we come to the conclusion that Milton Keynes could and should have a rowing club? Yvonne and I met at Northampton RC in September 1993 and after getting married in 1994 and moving to Woburn Sands we found that traveling to and from Northampton was becoming more awkward.
Training
read moreWe have an active Summer and Winter Programme of events and training schedules, both at weekends and in mid-week. This covers both water based training (both rowing and sculling) and land based training (circuits and rowing machines). Now that the nights are drawing in, there is no longer enough light for us to get out on the water on the Monday and Thursday sessions. This means we have reverted to indoor training on these evenings. This is usually circuit based, but we vary the contents between sessions to keep it interesting.

Although we were founded as recently as 1995, as a club we have posted some amazing achievements, punching far above our weight.
