read moreMelrose Day Nursery was set up in 1971 and is one of Sale's longest established nurseries. Jackie Knutton the current owner bought the business in 1994 and lived at the property with her young family for several years. As the nursery grew the family moved out and for the last 7 years the day-to-day running of the nursery has been taken over by our Manager Jen Bennett and her wonderful Deputy Julita Tomasik who has been at Melrose for more than 10 years. At Melrose Day Nursery it is our goal to be a second home for your children.

read moreMelrose is committed to providing children with every advantage educationally. Helping our children prepare for school is an important part of what happens in pre-school. The same curriculum (EYFS) follows your child through to the end of their Reception year at school and we have strong links with many local schools to make the transition smooth and positive for your child. Pre-school children have a skilled approach to play and exploration. Our skilled practitioners will follow the children's pace and focus of activities that interest them whilst providing the support needed to let them challenge their ideas.

read moreNow much more mobile, they are keen to explore and imitate the world around them and they need space, time and freedom to do this at their own pace which is why we have provided separately for this important phase in our two spacious and well equipped toddler rooms, alongside a separate potty training and changing room. The team who work with our toddlers understand how best to provide for children at this age. Children are developing friendships and their social world is opening up alongside an explosion in language development!

The government provides 15 hours of free childcare for 2 year olds per week and 15 or 30 hours of free childcare for 3-4 year olds depending on your circumstances. In addition to funded hours the government also offers Tax free childcare where parents will be able to open a new childcare account. For every 8 a parent pays into their childcare account, the government will pay in an extra 2. Parents can get up to 2000 government support per child per year towards their childcare costs - that's up to 500 every 3 months.
