I truly believe that a great wedding photography captures the moment and all emotions. Good photo isnt just a snap of someones face. Good photo isnt the one where the person photographed is aware of the camera. Real good photo isnt staged, forced or directed. In my opinion great photograph freezes the unique moment, something that could not be repeated. All important and unique moments are often captured in a split second. A quick glance from the groom at the bride when she walks down the aisle. Dad squeezing mums hand in a comforting way when shes just about to cry during the vows. Grandmother gently touching brides face after the ceremony to express her feelings and also say how beautiful her granddaughter looks. Bride looking up at her dad with pride and joy when hes doing his speech. The first dance, when bride rests her head onto her husbands shoulder. Spontaneous kiss or gentle touch. Laughs when jokes are shared. Also many more little things that happen in between bigger key events during the long wedding day. When all those unique moments are put together, they reflect a true spirit of the day. Honest story of the real wedding. When your wedding is photographed in a pure documentary way, it will be unique, it will be YOURS.

read moreMy August wedding photography had started with the wedding of Rory and Hannah. They got married at Saint Peter's Church in Claypole with reception at the Old Rectory farm just a few minutes walk from the church. As it is often the case I started the day with some photography during the morning preparations at Hannah's family home in Newark. Then a short drive took me to the Old Rectory farm in Claypole where Rory and the boys were getting ready. Soon we all found ourselves near the church where guests were greeted by the groom and ushers.
Leicestershire wedding of Ian and
read moreLast week I finished editing Ian and Lisa's wedding photos. Their Leicestershire wedding took place at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Syston. The great wedding ceremony was followed by a very relaxed celebration at Maiyango Hotel in Leicester City Centre. I started my photography at Lisa's mum's house where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. The weather was absolutely awful when I drove there in the morning. I must say that we got quite lucky in the end. It rained a few times on the day but only when people where inside and there was no need for travel.

read moreBack in July last year I found myself shooting a wedding in Devon for James and Laura. I first met the couple at Rich and Emily's wedding I photographed back in the summer 2015 (You can see their Leicestershire wedding here). When James and Laura booked me for their big day, I was really excited. I knew their wedding was going to be super relaxed. Also, it was the first wedding I photographed in Devon, actually it was the first time I visited this part of the world. I found driving down the country lanes rather challenging and fun too, especially at night!
