Graduated in Opthalmic Optics from Bradford University in 1973. After completing all of his professional qualifications, Martin went on to work at Moorfields eye hospital, London where he worked on a complete and part time basis for 10 years. Upon leaving Moorfields, having attained the status of Senior Optician, he went on to begin his own practice in Stevenage. Since then, Martin has developed the practice with the most modern equipment available, with special emphasis on clinical skills.

This is now regarded as old fashioned and has been replaced in modern hospital eye departments by optical coherence tomography (OCT). We are one of a handful of surgeries that can offer this modern diagnostic test. Eye testing (or refraction) is performed thoroughly without rushing patients.
