Martin Haynes Opticians
Optical Store in Shrewsbury, Shropshire
We all know how much we value our sight. At Martin Haynes Opticians we're committed to the preservation and improvement of vision, delivering up-to-the-minute technology in friendly, historic surroundings. Our building constructed of brick and beam is about 300 years old. The gable end facing the road has Keele Sandstone at it's base which formed part of a cellar wall. This was taken from a quarry just past the top of St John's Hill when it was working in the fourteenth century. The area is now known as Quarry Park running along the River Severn, with at it's heart an area called the Dingle.

An eye test is not just for checking
read moreHaving your eyes tested can feel like a bit of a chore but it doesn't need to be. Here at Martin Haynes Eyecare we understand how important your eye test is, not just to buy new glasses but also to give an indication of your general health. An eye test can often show up indications of eye diseases such as Glaucoma, which is the second most common cause of blindness and can be prevented. We can also help spot diabetes and high blood pressure while we are testing your eyes. Regular eye tests also make sure that you do not have retinal damage and to prevent your vision from getting worse.
Eyewear
read moreSpectacles can give the face shape and character, or they can fade into the background so you hardly look as if you are wearing them. So spectacles are chosen by the patient for cosmetic and/or lifestyle reasons. Martin Haynes will then advise on the frames that also fit the optical requirements after discussing the lenses most appropriate for the patient's needs. Of course, price comes into the equation and it is often useful to talk about prices beforehand. There is a range of prices for different types of lenses and a large selection of frames at prices from inexpensive to whatever is appropriate.
