We are an independent, user-led organisation with 23 years of experiences in connecting patients, service users, carers and the public with service redesign. We are rooted in the community with a proven track record of working in an innovative way with communities by ensuring they are at the centre of all the work we do. This enables us to understand what the real issues are, the barriers and the solutions for people to live better lives in Leeds.

read moreOur team is made up of over 800 voluntary members, the staff and the board. If your interested in becoming a member and would like to know more about, check out our membership page. Our board meet ten times a year to set our strategic objectives. The board is made up of people with lived experience of health, social care and community services. Each board member is elected on a rotating basis by our membership. We also have a bank of 6 sessional workers who work with us when required to help deliver different projects.

read moreWe carry out a variety of work with our members, user groups, local communities and public and private sector organisations. If you think you'd like to work with us please get in touch for a chat. We are a delivery agency for independent involvement projects. We engage with people to enable them to have a say in how public services are planned, delivered and monitored. We also manage two involvement networks, Together We Can and ZIP (Dual Diagnosis). In these and our other regular involvement groups, members are encouraged to share their lived experiences and opinions with our partners.

Becoming a member is the best way to take part, and we welcome people with or without lived experience from all backgrounds.

read moreWe offer training to build on the assets members already have - a toolkit to help perfect their skills. Our training sessions are on everything from building confidence to understanding how meetings work, and from the social model of disability to time management. We encourage members to take part if they're interested in putting the skills and expertise they already have to good use, but might feel nervous about certain elements of involvement.
