Architect in Kettering, Northamptonshire The practice is an RIBA Chartered Practice, an accreditation scheme that gives you, the client, a mark of quality. The scheme has been developed by Royal Institute of British Architects to ensure that all accredited members work to a common set of standards and have in place:

- appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- quality management systems
- health and safety policy
- employment policy addressing the principles of the RIBA policy statement on employment
- continuing professional development for all staff

The practice is also a member of the Association of Self Build Architects, catering for those embarking on a project to build themselves a new home, or an addition to, or a refurbishment of, their existing home.

Johns particular field of expertise is that of sustainable architecture in historic contexts whether that is an extension to a listed cottage or a new commercial / public building within a conservation area. He is currently a Trustee of The Rothwell Preservation Trust (set up to restore listed buildings at risk in the town) and The Orton Trust (set up to run courses in traditional stonemasonry. He is also a committee member of the RIBA Premises committee (looking after the RIBAs listed HQ building in London), the RIBAs Conservation Architecture Group. He is also a past president of the Northamptonshire Society of Architects and former Councillor of the RIBA (Trustee).
