Sarah Jenkin-Jones started working life as a journalist, training and becoming fully NCTJ qualified with the Newark Advertiser and then moving onto the Derby Evening Telegraph where she had a wide news brief. Sarah moved into public relations in 1988 - working for Harrison Cowley PR in Birmingham, a Saatchi & Saatchi owned company, where she worked on such clients as the Black Country Development Corporation and Typhoo.
