The Insight Media i-Kiosk hardware is based around a touch screen interface which offers an innovative way of allowing borrowers to browse PC availability in the library or at nearby sites and select a computer to book, whilst also allowing them to view and pay for their printed documents.

The option for integration with existing libraries' public access wireless networks offers an enriched solution including controlling access via a login portal or login interface using authentication with the organisation's Library Management System (LMS). LMS WAC authentication helps provide greater security and joined up integration with your systems, and eliminates the necessity to maintain separate databases of users.

read moreUsing an intuitive calendar layout, staff can clearly see which resources have been allocated and to whom, along with which resources are available now and which are due to be returned soon. The software will also warn staff when resources are overdue and provide further warnings at the start and end of each day when resources have failed to be returned. Staff may also use this calendar to issue, pre-book or return resources. By integrating with your Library Management System, iCAM Resource Control is able to use real-time borrower information, helping to prevent the allocation of valuable resources to blocked users or children.

read moreInstead, the software intercepts the print job and re-directs it to the iCAM Printer Control management software, which holds it until staff release the document following payment or the borrower pays for their document(s) via the iCAM self-service kiosk application. By preventing print jobs being sent directly to your printers, iCAM Printer Control is able to ensure payment is taken before valuable resources such as ink and paper are used.

read moreLibraries using iCAM have complete control over the access and booking of all their Peoples' Network PCs and devices. Due to our unique PC management interface, staff can always clearly see which PCs are being used and by whom, and which are available for bookings. If all the computers are in use then staff can see at a glance how long before the next computer is available and, if necessary, add borrowers to a waiting list. Computer bookings are easily started, extended and ended by staff but will also automatically end when the allocated time has expired ready for the next borrower's booking.
