The ISC represents 1, 280 independent schools educating more than 500, 000 kids. Our schools are accredited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and the Head of each ISC school is a member of one of our Heads' Associations. ISC schools cover the whole academic selection. They cover a huge social selection, with nearly a 3rd of kids receiving aid with their school fees.

Racism is a serious issue for all schools and for wider society. The ISC brings together seven associations to represent over 1,300 independent schools and was founded in 1973. ISC provides research, legal, regulatory and press services and we represent our associations by coordinating campaigns on specific issues. The Member Zone is for ISC schools and associations.

ISC's work is carried out by a small number of dedicated professionals working out of our offices in Central London. We are assisted by the contributions from expert advisory groups in specialist areas. Our priorities are set by the board of directors led by our Chairman, Barnaby Lenon. We are tasked by our members to protect and promote the sector in everything we do.
