In 2004, we heard that our 2nd bid to the Community Fund (now called the Big Lottery) was successful, which has allowed us to recruit two more workers on a 2 year contract to take on additional outreach and development work with the Black and Minority Ethnic Communities mainly in Telford. This helping us to build on our existing work mainly within the Asian communities, and to widen out the service to include people from Black African/Caribbean and other ethnic communities.

read moreImpact started out as a small counselling charity set up in 2003 to support the community of Telford and Shropshire. Originally our counsellors focused on work around alcohol and drug addiction, but since then we've broadened our scope to work with a range of mental health issues. Now our team is a lot bigger and we've a great team of counsellors and psychotherapists who are all either registered or accredited members of the BACP or other counselling professional bodies and cover a wide range of specialties and experience.

Between us we've a wealth of experience and have worked with thousands of clients. Most of us are fully qualified, although some of the team are still in training and work with us on their placement. We have regular further training to keep our skills up to date and are always expanding our knowledge in our particular areas of interest.
