About Us
read moreOur aim as a practice is to be recognized by our community as the best local small animal veterinary provider and the first place to go for all their pets' health, welfare, advisory and nutritional needs. Our mission at Holmefield Vets is to deliver professional veterinary care that your pets would choose for themselves at our surgeries in both Brayton and Sherburn-in-Elmet. Our priority is not only to provide them with complete diagnostics and treatment when they are ill but also to offer the best preventative health advice at all life stages - as pet owners ourselves, we know how important this is.
Pet Nutrition
read moreWe believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great! Explore the guide to pet nutrition to discover the truth behind current trending diets and what your pet really needs for a balanced diet, or contact us to book in for a nutrition consultation with a member of the team.
Vet Services
read moreWe have always been proud to provide our own out-of-hours emergency service and we want to ensure your pet has the best of care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However as a small practice in a modern world, whilst it's essential that our vets and nurses are always there to help, we have our limitations as a small team and it's vital that we ensure our team have a good quality of home life, as well as work. Therefore, we have asked Holly House Veterinary Hospital to become our out-of-hours emergency veterinary care providers for your pet.
Insurance Claims Guide
read moreContact you if we've not received payment from the insurer 4 weeks after sending the claim form (most insurers request 4 weeks to process a claim) in order that you may query this with your insurance provider. If the insurer declines to settle the insurance claim, it's your responsibility to settle the account in full within 30 days. By offering a direct claim, we are not creating a contract between ourselves and the insurer. Any disputes regarding the claim will remain your responsibility and we are not required to investigate for you or deal with queries.
Pet Insurance Guide
read morePet insurance provides cover for veterinary fees in the event that your pet becomes injured or unwell. It can provide peace of mind that you're in a position to afford all the veterinary care your pet may need. With veterinary medicine employing expensive medical techniques and medication, and with pet owners caring more and more about their pets' health, pet insurance is becoming increasingly popular. There are many pet insurance companies now available, with many different levels of cover and policies to choose from.
Local Vets in Sherburn in Elmet
read moreWith new GDPR regulation coming into force from 25th May 2018 we need to ensure you are happy in the way in which we communicate with you. We now have 7 different categories* that form the basis of our client communications so we can be very specific in what we do and don't send you. We deem these categories as 'legitimate business interests'. This means we think they are critical for us to provide you and your pet the best possible healthcare service. These 'marketing categories' keep you and your pet up to date with offers and promotions relating to your pet and the practice.
Pet Advice
read moreWe recommend your pet is fed a good quality complete diet designed for your pets' age and lifestyle. When you first bring your puppy or kitten home, it is a good idea to stick to the feeding regime that they are used to. This should help smooth the transition into your home. We would then recommend that you choose a good quality complete food that is designed to meet the nutritional needs of your pets age and lifestyle. To change from the original diet to the new one, you should gradually introduce the new diet over a minimum of five days, by increasing the new diet gradually, whilst at the same time reducing the old.
