After 35 years in the physiotherapy profession she retired in April 2020 and now spends her time managing the business and teaching our Pilates classes. Carol is the person you are most likely to speak to first when you call to book your appointment or to ask for advice. Rebecca qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of Brighton in 1994. Since then she has held a number of NHS and private posts, in Kent, Berkshire and Cheshire and has spent the majority of her time developing skills in the field of musculoskeletal medicine.
Treatment
read moreAll our Physiotherapists providing treatment are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). For all musculoskeletal problems your first appointment is an initial assessment and will usually last between 30 and 45 minutes. Your therapist will take a detailed history and then perform a thorough examination. At this point you may be asked to remove some clothing to allow a full examination of the problem area. You are welcome to bring along a chaperone to your treatment sessions if you wish.
Rehabilitation
read moreRehabilitation following an injury or surgery, aims wherever possible to return you to your pre-injury level ability. This might mean getting back work or sport or even being able to play with your grandchildren again. When you suffer an injury or after surgery you can lose mobility and strength throughout your body. As the length of time since you suffered your injury increases, it can be more difficult just to step straight back into your normal activities. Without rehabilitation, people can struggle to fully recover, experience regular flare-ups of and increasing the chances of further injury.
Pilates
read moreAll our Physiotherapists who teach Pilates at Restore Physiotherapy are trained by The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). Pilates is a mind-body exercise technique that emphasises the importance of moving from a strong central core of muscles around your lower back and pelvis. The original technique was developed by its founder Joseph Pilates over the course of his lifetime (1880-1967). This system of exercise is gaining recognition in the medical and fitness worlds alike for management of postural problems and many types of injuries.
