read moreThen when the death has been confirmed contact us to come and convey your loved one back to our premises, when you are ready for us to do so. The Nursing Home will call you, if you are not already present, and then the deceased's registered G.P Surgery so a Doctor can come out and confirm the death. Following this, you will need to advise them, when you are ready for us to take care of your loved one. Following a death in a Hospital/Hospice they will contact you if you are not already present. The Patients Affairs office Or Bereavement Office will then organise all the necessary paperwork which you can go and collect usually within two working days along with any personal belongings.

read moreWhen a loved one passes away the Doctor will issue a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death usually referred to as the Death Certificate, the informant will need this to register. Once you've obtained the Death Certificate you'll need to make an appointment with the Registrar's Office in the District where the death occurred. The contact details will be on the white envelope containing the Medical Certificate. The only document required by the Registrar from the informant is the medical certificate of the cause of death issued by the doctor.

Once paid for, the services of the Funeral Director detailed in your Funeral Plan are guaranteed to be covered (in accordance with the Terms & Conditions). Disbursements may necessitate a further payment from you at the time of need, but Golden Leaves will guarantee any increase in the costs of Disbursements to the RPI (Retail Price Index).
