read moreAs a church family within the Church of England we hold to the Reformed Catholic faith as summarised in the 39 Articles. As evangelical Christians we hold that 'Holy Scripture contains all things necessary for salvation' and therefore we take the teaching of the Scriptures as of primary importance. Our interpretation of the Bible is guided by the faith which has been passed on to us, both in the catholic creeds and the Anglican Articles. We normally have expository sermons which last 15-20 mins because we believe that understanding what God has to say to us in the Bible, is crucial if we are to live a life which is faithful to Jesus.

Many people find that they naturally want to have the church involved at those times. This service, often called a Christening, is all about commitment. First, it's about God's love and commitment to us and then, in response, it's about our love and commitment to him. When parents have a child baptised we want the occasion to be joyful and meaningful for them and so we feel it's important to do some preparation beforehand.

read moreSt Leonard's Church is a family which is trying to follow Jesus in every aspect of life. We are a family within the Church of England, a family that takes Scripture seriously, a family which values the sacraments (of Baptism and Holy Communion), and a family which values its place within the town of Padiham. Our family is quite diverse, and you will meet all sorts of people here at St. Leonard's, and therefore each of our services is slightly different. Our 9.30am service is a service which is aimed at everyone, which has as a result a real family feel, and worships in a traditional way including a robed choir, and Holy Communion most weeks.

read moreSt Margaret's is a family church seeking to serve the village community of Hapton. Our Sunday morning service begins at 11am and is usually a service of Holy Communion, although we have occasional Family Services. As our parish consists of St Margaret's Hapton and St Leonard's Padiham, we share ministry, so have quite a variety of leadership, whether one of the clergy or our Lay Reader - so no one gets bored! A small choir leads our singing, accompanied by a pipe organ and a guitar and we sing a combination of traditional and more contemporary hymns and worship songs.
