Guildford Methodist Church
Churches in Guildford, Surrey
Sunday worship is at 10am and 6pm. Tea and coffee after the services supply an opportunity to get together and there is normally an opportunity to purchase a array of fairly traded products on our Traidcraft stall. On the last Sunday of each month we meet at 9am for 3P - Papers, Pastries & Prayer. This provides the possibility to consider the Sunday morning papers over breakfast and bring topical concerns before God in prayer.

Guildford Methodist Church
read moreTo be a welcoming worshipping community, working together with other Christians to share God's love, through word and action, with the people of Guildford and further afield. With great regret, we are following the advice of the Church of England and Methodist Church and have suspended Public Worship and meetings for the time being. Once our building work is completed, we hope to be able to open St Mary's at times for private prayer and reflection without infringing the social distancing advice issued by the Goverment.
About Us
read moreGuildford Methodist Church is in a partnership with the Church of England parish at St Mary's in Quarry Street, right in the heart of Guildford. We worship and work together to show Christ's love to the people of Guildford. Our partnership started in 2013 and our church community has grown close together. St Mary's also hosts services for European Orthodox and Roman Catholic worshippers. We are part of the Wey Valley Methodist Circuit, enabling us to draw on the resources of the Circuit and to continue working with other Methodist churches in the area.
History
read moreThere has been a Methodist Church in Guildford Town Centre since about 1854. From 1966 to 2013 we occupied a fine building just out of the centre in Woodbridge Road but rather detached from the heart of Guildford. In 2013 we accepted an invitation from the Parish of Holy Trinity and St Mary to join with them and base ourselves at the historic St Mary's building in Quarry Street, just off the High Street, bringing us back to the very heart of the town. As the oldest place of Christian worship in Guildford, St Mary's holds a special place as Common Ground for Christians of many denominations.
Baptisms
read moreKeith Beckingham, the minister of Guildford Methodist Church, is available to discuss arrangements for conducting either baptisms or Infant thanksgivings. The following links should answer some of your questions, but of course you can discuss them, or any other points, with the Minister.
