This is the case with the Pharmaceutical industry, where extremely hard wearing components are essential to meet a challenging environment. As such, our extensive knowledge and experience with hard wearing materials makes us highly valuable manufacturers. We produce a range of specialist components for the industry, including fully manufactured and assembled gearboxes for extruder machinery.
CNC Machining
read moreGlebe Engineering utilise the latest CNC machining equipment and techniques to manufacture low volume, high precision components. We have CNC turning and milling machines with up to 5 axis machining capabilities to produce components in a large variety of materials, including aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, alloy steels and inconel. These capabilities allow Glebe Engineering to produce high quality components for a range of projects and industries. Conventional Machining
read moreAt Glebe Engineering we use conventional machining for high precision component production. These classic technologies are used for rough machining, small batch work, fixture making and preliminary work. Ideal for the subtractive manufacturing of metals that are not particularly hard or brittle, such as aluminium or stainless steel, conventional machining has been a part of Glebe Engineering's production range since the very beginning. We operate a range of manual turning machines including Harrison 400 and 500 centre lathes and a Lacfer CRI lathe, all with Heidenhain digital read-outs.
Wire Erosion
read moreWire Erosion is an important technique for machining hard metals to extremely close tolerances. At Glebe, we make use of this process to achieve complex shapes and excellent surface finishes for small work pieces and hard metals. Our machines offer extreme precision in producing components that cannot be worked using conventional methods. This technique complements the vast array of services provided by Glebe Engineering, and means that many components can be manufactured and assembled in-house.
Inspection
read moreAt Glebe Engineering inspection is the final part of our manufacturing process. To maintain a high standard we ensure that all of our components are rigorously inspected for precision and workmanship. Our CNC CMM machines allow us to measure components down to a few microns, making sure all the components leaving our factory are completed to a meticulous standard. We use the latest CNC CMM machines and stress analysis software to measure our components to the highest level of accuracy. We operate a QCT Quantum 4 CNC CMM machine with a measuring travel of 615mm (X) by 650mm (Y) by 550mm (Z) and volumetric accuracy of 3.5 L/250m.
