Funeral Services in Hastings, East Sussex Ray Girrbach, owner, is a 3rd generation funeral manager. Ray attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, IL and graduated in 1979, at which point he took over the family business. Ray is an active member of the community and has served on various boards and committees for the following organizations; Barry Community Hospice, United Way and the Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Hastings Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Federated Funeral Directors of America, Michigan Funeral Directors Association (MFDA)

read moreThe Girrbach Funeral Home was founded in 1893 by the Waldorff family. It was later purchased by the Girrbach Family in 1966. The Girrbach family has been in the funeral service since the early 1900's. After completing mortuary school, Ray Girrbach owned and operated the funeral home for 37 years and is now the Owner Emeritus. He made many additions to the building with a major addition in 1994. In 2019 Dale Billingsley purchased the funeral home and is committed to providing the same care, compassion and service that Girrbach Funeral Home has given to this community since its founding.

After his parents returned to America, he resided in Kansas, Texas, and spent his teen years in St. Louis, Missouri where his father was a pastor for 25 years. After High School, he attended Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he met his wife Sandra (Piccard). Sandra was born and raised on a dairy farm in Fruit Ridge by Grand Rapids, Michigan. God has blessed them with 2 children, Karla, who is an Electrical Engineer at Stryker and Charles who is a Technical Director at Dream Works Animation.
