We're a group of ordinary people from varied walks of life who have come to know Jesus Christ in a real and individual way. We trust that Jesus has given all people the opportunity for new life when they change from a way of life that is not under his control, putting their trust in him alone for life and eternity and living under his lordship. We trust that all people need to receive by faith this gift of eternal life that is freely offered. We're part of the worldwide Free Methodist Church, which holds to the mainstream of Methodist understanding stretching back to the founder of Methodism, John Wesley.

Why are we here
read moreWe are a group of ordinary people of various ages and backgrounds here at GFMC. Our aim is to build real relationships - with God and with one another - that spill out to impact surrounding communities. We recognise that faith is a journey and we welcome people to come and join us, no matter where they are at with their beliefs. Life can be difficult enough without having to face it alone. We believe that Jesus knows and loves each one of us and that having hope in Him and belonging to His community transforms lives.
Missions
read moreAs a church we are passionate about loving God, loving people no matter what, serving the poor and caring for those who are broken and hurting. We can all be part of God's heart to touch the world whether we're at home, at work or anywhere else. We can all be missionaries wherever we find ourselves. We commit 15% of our offerings to support many different Christian organisations and missionaries, both abroad and in the UK. We also give to support good causes throughout the world. These have included helping buy food and water for Syrian refugees and also providing food for the homeless in Lancaster.
Worship
read moreWorship is more than just singing. It is a lifestyle of acknowledging how awesome God is and recognising what He has done for us. As a worship group our heart is to grow in relationship with God and in unity with each other. We hope to lead the congregation in praise and worship that increases our vision of who God is and leads us to an encounter with Him. We try to incorporate both modern worship songs and traditional hymns into our Sunday services. If anyone feels that they would like to explore being part of the worship team please contact Gina Ramsden or Andrew Stackhouse, our worship directors, about joining us at midweek practices.
