Optician in Dundee, Scotland John Ferrier established the Ferrier Optometrists practice in Lochee in 1988. Four years later his son, John, and his son-inlaw, Charles MacKinnon, qualified as professional optometrists, and Ferrier & MacKinnon was born. Initially Ferrier & MacKinnon had three practices in Lochee, Kinross and Burntisland. The Dunfermline practice opened in 1996 when Colin Ferrier became a partner in the company. The practice in Newport-on-Tay was taken over in 2003 and then followed by the opening of our Cowdenbeath practice in 2005.
