About Us
read moreFamily Fund's impact goes beyond the provision of a financial grant to a family raising a disabled or seriously ill child. As more and more families come to us for grant support for the first time, we can provide vital information and signpost to other support services that our families can use. This can be local, regional or national. We use our website and social media channels to share up to date information about other organisations and agencies that offer information, advice or support services to disabled children and their families.
read moreWhen applying for grants that support either a break from caring or a break for your entire family, think about what would be most likely to make a difference. We have contracts with a range of suppliers to provide the majority of our grants. The use of contracts allows us to arrange discounts with different suppliers, meaning that our funding goes further. The discounts we receive from our partners make sure thousands of additional families are helped every year and is an important revenue stream for Family Fund.

We will look at any grant request that relates to the needs of the disabled or seriously ill child, young person and their family, take a look at our list of grant items to find out more. When applying, a family needs to think about what would make a difference to them and their child or young person. We consider grant requests in order of priority. If a family would like to ask for more than one item, make sure they tell us what is the most important item first.

Power Up
read moreOur FREE Power Up project aims to support parents and carers of disabled and seriously ill children to develop the confidence and skills to use online tools to manage money. We know that that not everyone is aware of how to use the internet to find the best deals, check benefits and get financial advice. We also know that finding the time to learn is hard and sometimes it's a bit overwhelming to try when you're unsure. The Power Up learning hub is a place where you can find out more about managing money online.
IPad training
read moreWe provide iPad training to families helped by Family Fund who are raising disabled and seriously ill children and young people. We can also offer information to families using tablets and other devices on our digital resources page. We are still running online one-to-one sessions in the current lockdown to families who have received a grant from us. Online sessions take place with one of our trainers, via your iPad. They last between one to two hours and trainers will chat to you first about what you want to learn.
