About Us
read moreHarriet and Paula opened The Exwick Ark in 2005 when, as parents, they discovered that the existing childcare in the area didn't meet their own needs for high quality and flexible childcare provision. They initially opened a small sessional pre-school for 22, 3 to 5 year olds on the Old Exwick Middle School site. Their own children were the first on the books but the new approach soon proved very popular! Since then The Exwick Ark has grown dramatically and now offers year round, full day care to up to 52 children aged between 6 months to 5 years.
Exwick Ark Staff Team
read moreOur most important resource is our staff team. We have very little staff turnover and most of our original team are still with us! All our staff are fully qualified in their various fields, and are completely dedicated to giving every child in their care a daily experience which is both educational and fun. Most of our staff are parents themselves, we even have a grandmother on the team! All staff are CRB checked and have completed paediatric first aid as part of their induction. Your Family Worker has special responsibility for Your child.

Enabling environments - the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning.
Exwick Ark Our Nursery
read moreAt The Exwick Ark we have a range of different facilities to suit the varying needs and abilities of the children in our care. The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's learning and development. Our rich and varied environment supports the children's learning and gives them confidence to explore safely both indoors and outdoors. Being outside can have a positive impact on children's sense of well being and it can help all aspects of children's development. Being outdoors offers opportunities for doing things in different ways and on different scales than when indoors.
